Brief

A brief is the document that tells clippers or creators what the campaign is about, which content to use and the rules a video must meet to be approved.

Also called
campaign brief, campaign guidelines, content guidelines

What it means

A brief puts the campaign's instructions in one place. In a clipping campaign, ours sets out the content rules, the page requirements and the source material that clippers cut from. In a UGC campaign it also covers the app, the formats and the topics to stay away from.

We write the brief from your content before the campaign opens. Clippers read it before they post. Then we review each submission against it, and only clips that follow it are approved and paid. We explain the brief to clippers, answer their questions and share editing examples as the campaign develops. We update the guidance while the campaign is live.

In clipping, a brief is not a script: clippers choose their own moments and edits. It is not a contract with you either. It is guidance for the people who post. And it is not fixed: when a topic or a source video stops working, we change the guidance. A submission that breaks the brief is not approved or paid.

Example

For Ali Alhamed's first campaign, our team wrote the campaign guidelines, defined the page requirements and gave clippers access to his YouTube videos and podcast episodes.
